APAE DE SÃO PAULO recruta Jovens Pesquisadores Doutores para atuar no Instituto de Pesquisa
A Associação de Pais e Amigos dos Excepcionais de São Paulo (APAE DE SÃO PAULO), Brasil, é uma Organização da Sociedade Civil sem fins lucrativos, que promove a prevenção e a inclusão da pessoa com Deficiência Intelectual produzindo e difundindo conhecimento. Atua em todas as fases da vida, da infância ao processo de envelhecimento.
A Deficiência Intelectual, segundo a Organização Mundial de Saúde, se caracteriza por uma redução significativa da habilidade em entender informações novas ou complexas e de desenvolver novas habilidades (comprometimento da inteligência). Isso resulta em uma capacidade reduzida de viver de forma independente (funcionamento social comprometido) e inicia-se antes da idade adulta, com um efeito prolongado no desenvolvimento. Na área de prevenção da Deficiência Intelectual, além de seu laboratório de triagem neonatal pioneiro no país, a APAE DE SÃO PAULO ainda promove e apoia pesquisas, produz e difunde conhecimento científico por meio do Instituto APAE DE SÃO PAULO. Neste sentido, em 2012 a APAE DE SÃO PAULO firmou parceria com a Fundação de Apoio à Pesquisa de São Paulo (FAPESP), com o programa de Jovens Pesquisadores Doutores em Centros Emergentes nas seguintes linhas de pesquisa ligadas à Deficiência Intelectual: 1) Cognição e Ciências Comportamentais (áreas: Neuropsicologia, Neurociência, Psicologia, Psiquiatria, Neurologia); 2) Triagem Neonatal (áreas: Bioquímica, Farmácia, Neurologia, Endocrinologia, Pediatria); 3) Biologia Molecular/Genética (áreas: Biologia, Genética, Biologia Molecular); 4) Imaginologia Cerebral (áreas: Radiologia, Medicina Nuclear, Neurologia, Psiquiatria, Psicologia).

APAE DE SÃO PAULO is recruiting Young PhD Researchers to work at the Research Institute
The Association of Parents and Friends of Intellectually Disabled People from São Paulo (APAE DE SÃO PAULO), Brazil, is a nonprofit civil organization, which promotes prevention and inclusion of the person with Intellectual Disabilities by producing and disseminating knowledge. Its actions range all stages of life, from childhood to the aging process.
Intellectual Disability, according to the World Health Organization, is characterized by a significant reduction in the ability to understand new or complex information and develop new skills (compromise of intelligence). This results in a reduced capacity to live independently (compromised social functioning) that starts before adulthood, with a prolonged effect on development. In the area of prevention of intellectual disabilities, besides its neonatal screening lab, pioneer in the country, APAE DE SÃO PAULO also promotes and supports research, produces and disseminates scientific knowledge through APAE DE SÃO PAULO Institute. In this way, in 2012 APAE DE SÃO PAULO partnered with São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) with the Program of Young PhD Researchers in Emerging Centers in the following research lines linked to Intellectual Disabilities: 1) Cognition and Behavioral Sciences (areas: Neuropsychology, Neuroscience, Psychology, Psychiatry, Neurology); 2) Neonatal Screening (areas: Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Neurology, Endocrinology, Pediatrics); 3) Molecular Biology/Genetics (areas: Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology); 4) Brain Imaging (areas: Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Neurology, Psychiatry, Psychology).
